You can submit a script you’ve already written (sample, pilot, short film, first pages of a feature) or use one of our prompts below to draft something new.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Submit your script
Upload a PDF up to 30 pages and share a bit about genre, tone, and what kind of feedback you’re looking for.

2. Get matched with a partner
We’ll pair you based on the information you provide. You’ll each read and respond to one script.

3. Swap feedback
You’ll send your notes directly to your partner and receive theirs in return. Peer-to-peer, simple, and useful.

TIMELINE

December 31: Script submissions due
January 5: You’ll receive your partner’s script
January 12: Your feedback to your partner is due
January 16: You’ll receive your partner’s feedback

$10 participation fee to help with matching and specifically helps Heavy Shovel Productions’ programming in 2026. Reach out if the fee is a barrier.

Heavy Shovel Productions will not be reading your script; matches are made solely based on the information you submit. Heavy Shovel is not responsible for creative overlap, missed deadlines, or disputes. This is a trust-based community program — treat each other’s work with respect.
