The Big Dig sundance: A filmmaker Party 2026

Tired of networking events where you chat with random plus-ones instead of fellow creatives? Heavy Shovel Productions’ The Big Dig is coming back to Park City to celebrate Sundance’s last year in UT. Back and better than ever on Saturday, January 24th. The festival could not be more overwhelming and we’re trying to make things a little easier by individually pairing you with people we think you should meet.

PART 1: Structured Networking (But Made Fun)

We’ve designed this part of the night to make sure you meet the people you actually want to talk to. When you sign up, you’ll fill out a quick form, and our matching algorithm (plus a little human touch from the Heavy Shovel Team) will pair you with three curated matches. Think speed-dating, but for filmmakers. This is the type of thing you can come to solo. Lots of drinks. You must register to attend as this is a curated event. Spots are limited. REGISTER HERE.

PART 2: The Party

After the structured rounds, it’s mix, mingle & party time. The truth is that we all like working with friends, so grab a drink at the open bar and make a new friend. You can register just for the party, but we highly recommend you come for the whole thing, and we will prioritize full-party guests.

Tickets: No door sales — reserve your spot in advance. Space is limited.

  • Networking + Party: $45

  • Party-Only: $35

All tickets increase by $5 a week before the event.
This event is ticketed because it costs a lot to put on an event at Sundance (i.e. tickets pay for the event).
If the fee is a barrier, reach out — we’ll figure it out.
